2014-03-01 · The OARSI guidelines report was drafted after a face-to-face meeting and re-vote at the OAGDG meeting at the April 2013 OARSI World Congress.

After careful consideration, and in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’s current trajectory, the OARSI Board unanimously made the decision to transition the OARSI 2021 World Congress to a fully virtual event to be held April 29 - May 1, 2021 (with Pre-Congress programming on April 28). 2013-10-16 To develop concise, patient-focussed, up to date, evidence-based, expert consensus recommendations for the management of hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA), which are adaptable and designed to assist physicians and allied health care professionals in general and specialist practise throughout the world.
Here, we examine the similarities and differences between these two guidelines and provide a narrative to help guide health-care providers through the complexities of non-surgical management of knee OA.
Based on previous OA guidelines and a systematic review of the OAliterature, 29 treatment modalities were considered for recommendation. Evidence published subsequent to the 2010 OARSI guidelines was based on a systematic review conducted by the OA Research Society International (OARSI) evidence team at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, USA.
